Dharma In Action

OM Music Workshop held their first sharing concert "Music Connection 1" on Saturday, 7 February 2009 at Singapore Buddhist Federation.

During this concert, Buddhist youths who shared a passion in music joined us and shared their compositions. Some of them were actively involved in other Buddhist organizations, such as Singapore Buddhist Mission’s Youth Section, Kong Meng San Phor Kark See’s Y Fellowship, NUS Buddhist Society Alumni, Foo Hai Youth Group and Miao You Pu Ti Yuan. In addition, we had participation from friends who were from the Music industry.

On that night, there were eight performances put up by 20 performers. 19 songs were performed, in which 14 songs were new compositions. 17 songs that were performed was a mix of English and Mandarin songs. As for the other songs, they were performed in melody by using Gu Zheng. Our guest performers for that night were a group of Buddhist youths from Malaysia, a lyricist from MediaCorp and a producer from Ocean Butterflies International.
